Q. I am a foreign national living in
Japan. I lost my passport. What should I do?

If you lose your passport, you
should do the following:
•Submit a Lost Property Report to the nearest
police station, and have them create a “Certificate of Receipt of Lost Property
Report” or “Certificate of Receipt of Robbery Report”.
•Contact your own country’s embassy/consulate
in Japan. Ask them to issue you a new passport (temporary passport, travel
certificate, etc.).
